The Southlands Internship Program (SIP) disciples, equips, and empowers young adults to embody Southlands’ DNA — we are gospel centered, spirit empowered, community on mission
Through theological training and practical life skills, interns will learn to belong, behold, grow and go, impacting our city and beyond.
WHY
The Southlands Internship Program is a comprehensive, 3 or 9 month long discipleship program designed to prepare young adults for healthy and fruitful lives in ministry and beyond by focusing equally on leadership development, spiritual formation, and practical ministry skills. The goal of the internship is to leave with a holistic understanding of how the church functions while building community and having fun together.
WHAT
During your time with us, you can expect to attend weekly staff meetings, meet 1-1 regularly with a mentor, have FUN and serve Sundays. Our curriculum varies throughout the year and consists of theological training, working out Southlands DNA, team Bible studies, and reading books on leadership, spiritual growth, and living missionally. There will also be opportunities to go on mission trips, participate in Advance gatherings, and go on an intern retreat.
Whether you are interested in working in a church one day, fulfilling a college internship requirement, or gaining practical life skills and going deeper with the Lord, YOU should intern at Southlands Brea! The program is open to 18-30 somethings. We can’t wait to have you join the team!

“As a seasoned intern who couldn’t help but stick around, there are many joys I could share about jumping into the Southlands Internship Program. If I’d want anyone to take one thing away from my experience though, it would be that Southlands is the safest place to step into discomfort and challenge and come out as someone even more loved and more in love with Jesus…
I began my time here as someone terrified of being on stage or leading in any front-facing capacity and have found myself now leading worship in a new freedom and excitement to serve the Lord with whatever I have to bring. Interning truly doesn’t require an end goal except to grow closer to Jesus and grow in love for his bride and It’s been my joy to do that while interning here at Southlands.” - Megan K.
